Have you Written?

Are you a writer? Have you written today? Someone said (and I'm paraphrasing here) a day you haven't written is a day you've written off.

Don't waste valuable writing days.

Mrs. No Good

Ever met her? She's not a nice lady at all. Puckered little face, squinty eyes, likes to perch on your shoulder as you write.

You're in the middle of a manuscript. There she is, leaning toward the computer monitor with a shake of her head, saying, "That's no good."

You hesitate. Read it again. She's right. What you've just written is not good at all. You backspace. Delete what you wrote. Try again. This time, this is going to be perfect. You begin to write. Don't hear her voice. Ah...wait...there she is. On the other shoulder. Mouth an 'o' of shock.

"You shouldn't write that! It's no good."

Now what?

That depends on you. How badly do you want to reach your dreams? Enough to shut out the voices in your head, that awful critic who constantly harps (ever wonder why the critical voice in your head NEVER develops laryngitis?)...

You love to write. It's been your dream for years to sell your stories. Do you REALLY want it? Don't quit and say you wanted it because you didn't want it enough.
